The U.S. Commerce Department on Wednesday added dozens of Russian entities to an export-control list, as it continued to make its presence felt in sanctions enforcement.

Commerce’s Bureau of Industry and Security said in a notice published Wednesday in the Federal Register that it added 81 names to its Entity List for fueling the Russian conflict with Ukraine. Most were already under U.S. sanctions imposed by the Department of Treasury, a Bureau official said in an interview. But 11 others, chiefly involved in making electronic components, were also named to the list for evading prior sanctions on Russian defense enterprises, he said.

“This is all to make sure that existing sanctions aren’t evaded,” said the official.
